In May we welcomed 13 families previously supported by our Stars children’s bereavement support service to Westminster College in Cambridge.
The families came together to remember their loved ones through creative workshops and memory-making.
Families found strength together as they shared memories, remembered their loved ones, and made lasting connections with others who have had similar experiences.
We spoke to some of the children who attended this special event. Here’s what they had to say.
What’s something you enjoyed about the day?
‘Being able to talk to people about their experiences and mine and it was really nice making my memory box’
‘Just being able to talk about my mum’
‘Meeting new people and finding out who they are and about their lives’
‘Making new friends’
‘Not being the only one who’s lost someone in their life’
What’s a wish you have for the future?
‘To become an actor and be endlessly happy’
‘To travel the world’
‘To be happy and have a good life and not to lose anyone again, that would be nice’
‘To have lots of animals in the future’
‘To stay close to all my family no matter what happens’
